New Zealander Held Prohibited Immigrant
TERM OF SIX MONTHS' IMPOSED (By Telegraph-Press Assn. —Copyright). ] Received Friday, 8 p.m. SYDNEY, Nov. 30. Gerald Griffin, aged 28, a salesman, of New Zealand,.was to-day convicted and sentenced to six months' imprisonment on a charge of being a prohibited immigrant. A Customs officer, Richard Wflson, gave evidence that Griffin was submitted to a dictation test in Dutch, Griffin replying: "On the advice of my solicitor, I object, to these proceedMagistrate said he.would leave to the Crown authorities to determine w&3i the sentence should expire.
