Famous Hoax Recalled
DEATH OF NOTED WIG-MAKER. (By Telegraph-Press Assn.—Copyright). Received Sunday, 7 p.m. LONDON, Oct. 13. The death has occurred of Willie Clarkson, the iwigmaker, who costumed Court tableaux since 1889. He participated in one of the century’s greatest hoaxes when he made up a student as the Sultan of Zanzibar, who was given a civic welcome at Cambridge as an Abyssinian potentate.
