OBITUARY.
MRS. STEPHEN H. RALPH. There passed away on Thursday morning at her residence in Perry Street, Masterton, Mrs. Nellie Ralph, the beloved wife of Mr. S. H. Ralph. The late Mrs. Ralph was born in Hampshire, England, in 1872, and came to New Zealand in the ship “Edward Fox” 59 years ago, with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Ingram, who went direct to the Wairarapa, and the family having resided in Masterton ever since. As a scholar the late Mrs. Ralph attended the Masterton Public School, afterwards living at home with her parents and relatives. Forty years ago she was married by Rev. J. Dukes to Mr. Stephen H. Ralph. All her life she has been intensely interested in the work of the Methodist Church, and has been a valued member thereof. For many years she was a member of the choir of which her esteemed husband has been the choirmaster for thirty-seven years, also of the Ladies'’ Guild and the Missionary Auxiliary, being especially interested in the Mission enterprises of the church. Some years ago she underwent a serious operation and since then has not enjoyed the best of health. Three weeks ago her illness took a serious turn and at an early hour on Thursday morning she passed peacefully away. The sympathy of a very wide circle of friends will be extended to her husband, Mr. S. H. Ralph, her daughter Mrs. Walter W. White, and her two sons, Messrs Clarence Ralph (Ashhurst) and Keith'S. Ralph (Masterton), and to her brothers, Messrs Walter, Jasper, and Victor Ingram, and her sisters, Mesdames F. Herbert, Vincent Brooks, F. Sutton and J. Bradley. The interment took place on Saturday.
