OHAU ENTERTAINMENT CLUB.
SUCCESSFUL WIND-UP FUNCTION
At the Ohau Hall on Monday evening the members of the Ohau Entertainment Club had their wind-up function for the 1934 season in the form of a dance. As the Club possesses a membership of seventy, there was a large attendance. Mr H. McLeavey officiated as ,MjC., the music being supplied by Messrs H. Varnham (piano), H. Barnett (saxophone), and 'T. Pratt (drums); while extras were played by Mr J. Wylie (accordeon). A number of competitions were held, a waltz being won by Mrs Robinson and Mr J; Royal; and a .novelty dance by Miss J. Rowlands and Mr G. Royal. ’ A sumptuous supper was served under the supervision of the ladies of "the Club. ■ e ‘ :
At' an opportune time' during the evening Mr (Clyde Saint (president) thanked members for their co-operation during the past season andstated that the result had been more than satisfactory, both socially and financially. He also expressed deep appreciation of the help which they had had from the Hall Committee, without which, their activities would not have been so successful. Mr H. MeLeavey, who .was M.C., voiced the gratitude of the members for the live interest and work which had beerput into the Club by the President and his wife, Mr ahd Mrs Clyde. Saint.
