Another big and enthusiastic crowd was present when the match between the Australians and Leveson-Gower ’ s Eleven was resumed. The weather was fin© and the wicket good. Fames in his first two overs dismissed McCabe and Ohipperfield. Sutcliffe and Wyaitt opened with extreme caution and when the total was only twelve, the latter lost his middle stump. Sutcliffe then drove the ball straight to Bradman at midoff and ran, hut Leyland refused a smart return, which saw Sutcliffe run out. Hendren failed to see out the same over. With the loss ofthree wickets for 20, Nichols and Townsend hit valiantly, the partnership being worth 99 in 66 minutes. Nichols hit a sixer and thirteen fours.
