SKIDS GREASED.
LINER NEEDS 200 TONS. (Sun Special). LONDON, Sept. 5. Removal of the staging around the hull of the new Cunard liner and the greasing of. the slipways have been begun in preparation for the launching. Three propellers are in position and the fourth will be secured within a week. The great mass of drag chains needed to check the ship, after launching is, for the most part, already in position. For greasing the ways over 150 tons of tallow, 50 tons of black soap and a ton of oil will [be used. A special suite of rooms is being erected for the accommodation of the King and the Queen, who will attend the launchings A dining-room for 1000
guests is being -fitted out, and special grandstands are being built to hold many thousands ot‘ invited spectators. Enclosures are also being reserved for the general public, ‘
