Professional Boxers in the Ring
HUGHES OUTPOINTS RAYNER. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) BLENHEIM, Last Night. Archie Hughes, of Auckland, outpointed Clarrie Rayner, of Blenheim, the New Zealand feather-weight champion, in a 15-round light-weight contest before a packed house. Both weighed flst 3ilbs. Hughes, supported by his lengthy experience and a heavy punch in both hands, excelled at infighting. The bout was rugged and hard fought, Eayridr performing well to keep the anajrgin down with solid body-punching.
