AFTER PARALYSING CITY. MACHINE GUNS BROUGHT INTO ACTION. (By Telegraph-Press Assn.-Copyright). (Received This Bay, 9.10 a.ai.) MADRID, (September 8. Lightning and the„ general strike, it is declared, is paralysing the city which is without taxis, trams and newspapers, while it is most difficult to obtain bread and other necessities. There is inuch rioting and shock police, armed with machine guns, are stationed at the principal points. The strike was called off early this -morning, the casualties numbering six killed and twenty wounded. MANY KILLED AND WOUNDED. (Received Ths Bay, 11.25 a.m.) MADRID, September 9. Eight were killed and forty-five wounded in the general strike disorders. Also several bystanders wore killed.
