New Zealand Doctor Fined
VETERINARY WORK ON RACEHORSES Received Wednesday, 10.30 p.m. SYDNEY, May 2. On the eve of his return to New Zealand, after having operated on the racehorses Deep Respect and Koda Pen to cure them of "roaring," Dr. W. C. Ring was' subpoenaed to attend the Central Summons Court to-day. The information contained in the subpoena dealt with that section of the regulations requiring any person to be registered by the Veterinary Surgeons' Board of New South Wales before practising in this State. Dr. Ring was lined £3. with 10s costs. Dr. Ring's solicitor, asking that no conviction be recorded, under a special section of the Act, said that the operations were performed solely owing to a lifelong friendship between Dr. Ring and .). T. Jamiosoi), the trainer. r Simir Ihr operations were, performed in New Zealand with successful results.
The Magistrate declined to release defendant from a conviction, saying ho knew the law and had accepted a fee for the operations. ' '
