At the Mentone races the NEWMARKET TRIAL STAKES resulted: PHENOMENON 1 Polly Spec 2 Whittingham 3 The winner is engaged in the Newmarket. The last horse to win the double event was Blague, in 1915, ridden by Phenomenon's trainer, W. Smart.
