The question was discussed of pfoceeding with topographical surveys, with a view to preparing much of the material required for town planning It was agreed that the present time was very opportune for work of this nature, and it was decided that the question should be taken up with the Unemployment Board of engaging for the purpose surveyors who are at present unemployed. • The board considered proposals submitted by the Napier Borough Council for a modification of certain defails in the Napier business area townplanning scheme of 1931. The Timaru town-planning scheme was.again before the board and fur thcr steps are being taken towards bringing this scheme into operation.
