, OTAKI, Friday. • Further rain of a welcome nature fell in Otaki on Wednesday night and yes"terday. Some 67 children arrived at Otaki from Wellington to-day to go into the Health Camp, Members of the 1.0.0. F. Lodge held a re-union last evening at the Anglican Hall when their children were entertained. Those in charge did much for the enjoyment of the children and their efforts were greatly appreciated. Squeakers, balloons, etc., were supplied, and games of all descriptions indulged in. The children had ‘ ‘ the time of their lives” and enjoyed every moment.

The death occurred in Wellington on December 4th at his residence, Whittaker Street, of Mr. Patrick Murphy, second eldest brother of Mr. Leslie Michael Murphy, the well-known Ladies' Hockey “Critic’ ’ of “The Dominion’’ and racing correspondent for the “Otaki Mail.” The late Mr. Murphy was a well-known and respected citizen of Wellington and a keen enthusiast of the turf and cricket. Deceased had been ill only a short time and his death was a severe shock to hia sister, Mrs. A. (Anne) Siemonek, and brothers, James (Napier) and Les. M. Murphy.
