WEDDING.

GILBY—HILL,

A wedding of quiet charm was celebrated ait St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Levin, on October 2nd, when Miss Gwendolyn Hill, only daughter of Mr and Mrs J. M. Hill, of Levin, was married to Mr C. F. J. Gilby, son of Mr and Mrs C. JL Gilby, of Christchurch. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked very graceful in a gown of georgette and lace, with an exquisite veil, which had been lent by an old friend, and the: customary orange blossoms. The bridesmaid was Miss G. Nation, who was attired in a frock of creme crinkle crepe with red hat and bouquet to tone. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr D. Vickers. Beautiful bouquets, presented by Mrs Richard Prouse, were carried by the bride and bridesmaid. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. C. Davies. Mrs T. Devine was at the organ, and while the register was being signed she sang “■Oh, Perfect Love.” Afterwards a reception was held in the Oxford Tea Rooms, the guests being received by Mrs Hill, who wore' a frock of black silk relieved with white and hat to match and carried a bouquet of hyacinths, cornflowers and forget-me-nots, and Mrs Gilby, who wore a frock of floral silk with hat to tone and car-; ried a bouquet of primroses. After the reception the bride and -bridegroom left for the south by train, the bride wearing a brown costume for the journey, and the bridegroom carrying a leather coat—a gift from the bride.
