Owing to the wheat glut, M, Oneville, Minister of Agriculture,'has urged restricted production, but guaranteed the maintenance of a minimum price. The total available wheat, including last year’s surplus, is 493,000,000 bushels. It is curious that, though the population is now 41,000,000, as compared with 38,000,000 in 1913, the consumption of wheat has decreased from 312,000,000 to 286,000,000 bushels.
