STEAMER DELAYED Received Friday, 9.45 p.rcu SYDNEY, July 14. Twenty-four hours delayed by high seas and strong westerlies, the Sydney Maru from Auckland will not arrive here until to-morrow. An extensive cyclonic disturbance is operating over the Tasman, with its centre in latitude 07 and longitude 155, It is expected there will be heavy weather over the west lasman during the week-end. GREYMOUTH, Last Night. North-west galek' of the past -hr hours produced a general West Coast rainfall with some flooding in the Hokitika, Kokatahi, iValmca and Tvamaka districts. To-night a slip occurred on the Omoto road, inside Grcymouth borough boundary, over a thousand cubic yards of material moving for a width "of a chain, but the road is not blocked. A strong flood to-night in the Grey river is indicated. Flooding has occurred in the Omoto and Coal Creek areas. Rain has been heavy up the Grey valley and at Inangahua. and the rainfall for South has been 5.25 inches for 24 hours, with a simi- | lar quantity in the Grey district for 36 hours. The weather is now improving.
