To Sydney in Handcuffs

AUCKLAND, Last Night
After spending nearly a month in Mount Eden prison, the German stowaway. Fritz Kreuger, who jumped overboard from the Mariposa when me steamer was leaving Auckland for .'Sydney, and swam ashore, was .deported on the company’s liner Monterey which left for Sydney to-night.
To see,that he did not escape again, a Customs officer travelled on the Monterey to the pilot anchorage and after ascertaining that the stowaway was still aboard, the officer returned to Auckland in the pilot boat. Pxtra precautions are being taken to ensure that Krueger dues net escape. \tt«>r being taken on board the Mmiterev by the police, he was handwailed with his hands behind his back and later he was securely locked in a '.pedal apartment. He will bo kept in tin- room handenifed until he is handed over to the police at Sydney.
