EUCHRE AND DANCE.
LEVIN RELIEF WORKERS’ ASSOCIATION, Notwithstanding the numerous ooun-ter-attractions during the week, the euchre party and dance held under the auspices of the Levin Relief Workers’ Association last evening was well patronised, the Druids’ Hall being comfortably filled. Mr Pio Hurunui’s orchestra was in good form and kept the dancers in a bright and happy mood from start to finish. Extras, which' were much appreciated, were played by Mrs Robinson and Mrs Hickey.
Mrs A. Mudgway won the first prize for ladies in the euchre tournament, and Mr Fox won the first for the gentlemen. Mrs Winter secured the ladies’ sealed prize, and Mr A. Mudgway the gentlemen’s. Mrs Morris and Mir La Roche received the “booby” prizes.
Mr and Mrs Fox were the winners of the spot one-step competition, and Mrs Robinson and Mr “Chic” Mudgway of the Monte Carlo waltz. The vase competition, was won by Mr Ted Pratt.
The catering was in the capable hands of the ladies of the committee, who provided a very dainty supper. Mr Blanchette, as M. 0., kept the programme well up to the mark and did much towards ensuring for the guests a right good time.
