"The revolution is over." declares Hitler, in a communique to the State ■Governors, who are warned that they are now responsible for the maintenance of order and peace and the -suppression of unauthorised . interference -with industry and business. Thousands of people lined the streets at S«hneidemiehl and jeered Serr Thiemann, ex-chief of police, as, with a Republican flag thrust into his hand, lie was marched in custody to the police station which he formerly comjmanded. Around his neck was a placard- inscribed, "I insulted, oppressed and throttled the national movement, the Storm Troops, and the Stahlhelm.''
