The local members were authorised to attend to the matter of boots required by the Brigade. SUPERINTENDENT »S REPORT. Supt. M. Sutherland's report for the past quarter stated that only one call was received, this being to a washhouse in Victoria Street. A total of nine musters for the quarter showed an average attendance of 15, Avhich. he considered very good. Plant and equipment were in good order, but he would like the Board to inspect the mattresses in the station quarters. The Superintendent suggested that a tarpaulin be purchased to place over the top of the fire motor, to protect hose when- working in wet weather. On many occasions hose carried on top of the motor was wet by rain and it was necessary to dry, it \ before replacing it on the motor. "On behalf of my Brigade, I wish to express our appreciation for the manner in which the Board have assisted us during the past year," the report concluded. ' The Chairman commented with pleasure on the attendance figures. After an inspection of the engine, the Board decided against placing a tarpaulin on top of it, as it was considered that the attaching of such a cover would interfere with freedom of use of, the handrail. The Questions of renovating the mattresses and obtaining new sheets were left with the secretary.
