The office" of (Controller of Civil Aviation recently instituted is filled by the appointment of Squadron-Lead-er Wilkes, who combines its duties with those of Director of Air -Services. Mr C. H. Treadwell (Wellington) has been apointed President of the New Zealand Law Society in succession to the late Sir Alexander Gray. Mr A. H. Johnstone (Auckland) succeeds Mr Treadwell as vice-president.
