THE SECRET OF JEAN HARLOW'S BEAUTIFUL HANDS.
Beautiful hands —hands that are well kept, soft and shapely—are always an~index of distinction. On the screen, too, beautiful hands are an asset. The actress who has shapely, sensitive hands always stands out in a scene. And of the well-known cinema actresses before the public to-day ho one stands out more conspicuously in this regard than the alluring Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer star, Jean Harlow, who is co-featured with that celebrated movie idol, Clark Gable, in “Bed Bust” coming to the Begent Theatre on Saturday. When asked what she regarded as the essential points in the care of the hands, Mis® Harlow said:
'“A. good cream should be rubbed into the hands at night; then a gentle massaging should follow, thus keeping the hands soft and pliable. Rubbing, particularly between the fingers, makes the skin firm and yet supple. Daily manicuring should, of course, be done, with the proper instruments. But there is one thing that is not in the best taste; nails should not be too highly polished. After a few weeks ’ practice of such work the movements become almost automatic, and, almost unconsciously, Milady becomes subtly graceful in the use of her hands and arms.’*
