£llOO Car Destroyed In Fire at Bulls

VOLUNTEER BRIGADE’S FINE SAVE OF LARGE HOUSE.

A fire occurred in the garage adjacent to Messrs. Ellis Bros. ’ killing room, Bulls, last evening, the building •being razed to th&> ground and a Crossley car valued at £2IOO destroyed. The outbreak was discovered by Miss Ellis, sister of the owner, who saw the flames when she retired to her room about 9.30 o’clock. The alarm was immediately given and a volunteer brigade was quickly on the spot. Fortunately there was up wind at the time, but the trojan efforts of the brigade undoubtedly saved the 14-roomed house which, was only about ten feet away. The ear was insured, but the amount was not available last evening.
