Spirited Competition in London Wool Market

Total offerings at the London wool sales to-day were 8435\bales, including 2849 bales New Zealand. About 3499 bales were sold.
Spirited Home and Continental competition marked this sale, and the market retained its firm tone. Prices tended in sellers’ favour. Realisations included New Zealand half bred lamb slipe, 1 ‘ Pareora,' ’ 13-ld highest, 12 3-8 d average; greasy crossbred, "Weber,” Bid highest, 6 3-8 d average; greasy ' half bred, ‘ ‘ Kekerangu, ” highest, 9 5-8 d average.
Dalgety and Co. are advised by cablegram, dated London, May 19, as follows:—"Wool sales continue; excellent spirit, good clearances. Good style greasy crossbred fully $d higher as compared with opening rates.”
