Evidence of Falling off hr Sickness
HOSPITAL BEDS LYING IDLE. MINISTER SAYS CHILDREN NOT UNDER-NOURISHED-CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. “Statistics compiled by the Government health authorities show that there is no evidence of malnutrition among: school children in New Zealand,” said the Minister of Health (Hon. J. A. Young) to-day. The Minister said that in spite of' statements as to effects of under-feed-ing, it was a remarkable fact that in New Zealand, as well as in other countries, there was evidence of a fallingbtt in sickness. Many hospitals previously overcrowded now had beds lying, idle, and it had been proved that this was not due to people being unable to afford treatment, but because sickness was definitely declining.
