CLAUDE HULBERT.

Claude Hulbert was born in London in 1900 and started his stage career as a member of the Cambridge University Footlights Dramatic Club, when he was up at Cains College. He did in fact first appear with this company at the Strand 'Theatre in 1920, and made quite a His first professional appearance on the stage, however, was in 1921, since when he has made a name for himself as a portrayer of ‘ ‘ silly-ass ’ ’ parts in musical comedy. Among his most successful characterisations have been Freddy Falls in “Primrose,” Billy in “I'ell Me More,” Menlo Manville in “Kid Boots,” Harry Wendell-Wendell in “'Sunny,” and the Duke of Datchet in “Oh, Kay! ” Hulbert is practically a newcomer to talkies, but recently created a big success in “A Night Like This” with Ralph Lynn and Tom Walls. He is also very popular on the wireless, and appears before the “mike” with his brother Jack, and also his wife, Enid Trevor.
