Wild Scenes at Rodeo
ENORMOUS CROWDS AT ADELAIDE CARNIVAL MANY PEOPLE INJURED Received Sunday, 10.30 p.m. ADELAIDE, Sept. 4. Sensations occurred . a rodeo 'carnival on the Jubilee Oval yesterday in honour of the 75th birthday of the cattle king, Sir Sidney Kidman. Fortyfive thousand were present and hundreds were unable to gain admission. Scores of persons fainted before tnc show began. Many dimed on to adjacent roofs. A man fell through a skylight tnirty feet and fractured his skull. The police wore powerless to control the surging crowd. Several fright-maddened buckjumpers from the cattle country plunged among the spectators. There were over a. hundred minor casualties, thirty f which were caused by flying hoofs.
