One Industry That Has Not Slumped
HUGE INCREASE IN BRITISH LISTENERS British Official Wireless. Received Thursday. 9.50 p.m. SUGBy, June 9. The accounts of the British Broadcasting Corporation show that the sum of £657,935 was spent on wireless programmes during the past year. The capital expenditure amounted to over £907,000, and the corporation paid £74,000 in income tax. Its net revenue, which is derived from wireless licenses, exceeded the previous year’s figure by over £200,000.. The number of licensed wireless listeners at the end of the year was 4,330,735, an increase of 713,825 in the yeai.
