Another Revolution in Chile
ARMY AND AIR CORPS ATTACK GOVERNMENT SANTIAGO (Chile), June 4.A revolution has broken out here today, with the Army and Air Corps as its nucleus. Carlos Davila is one of its leaders. Afoot, and supported by air officers and men of the Air Corps, hemarched on Government House to overthrow the president, Juan Esteban Montcro. Planes flew low over the Government buildings, but dropped no bombs. Volunteer corps, said to be 75,000 strong,, were organised rapidly to resist the attack. A later message states that three were killed and GO wounded to-day in a. not near the Presidential palace. Socialists in Power SANTIAGO (Chile), June 5. A revolutionary junta, headed by Carlos Davila, former Ambassador to Washington, overthrew the Government of President Montero on Saturday night and prepared to establish a SocialisticState in Chile, but free. from Russian.
