Reichstag is Dissolved
/ VON PAPEN THROWS DOWN GAUNTLET. '■■■■■' Received Sunday, 10.30 p.m. BERLIN, June 5. President Hindenburg has dissolved the Reichstag. Von Papen’s Cabinet election manifesto says; The unprecedented material and moral crisis demands tne uniting of all the national forces. The realisation that .the Reich s, Prussia s and other States’ finances are shaken and social insurances are facing bankruptcv and the steady increase in unemployment have accelerated cultural bolshevisation_ which threatens Germany’s moral fibre. Atheistic and Marxian ideas have entered public life deeply and the Governments have been compromised, -converting the State into a welfare organisation. The postwar Governments have thus bequeathed the State an impossible task. Germany must be rebuilt on unchanged Christian ideals. 'The Government will not hesitate to fight for the maintenance of the vital foundations of public welfare, especially for the workers. ’ ’
