TOILET TIPS.
IN HEAT AND GLARE,
Strenuous games 'at all times, butparticularly in the heat and glare of a summer's day, do not tend to improve one's appearance. But a few simple treatments before going out will do a great deal for a woman who studies her looks. She is a wise woman who removes all cream and powder from her face before going on, to the tennis court. It is quite impossible to avoid perspiration, and so the pores should be clear. All kinds of blotchiness and all kinds of rashes and irritation of the skin arise during hot weather as a result of choked pores. Pow- - der must be chosen, with added care and always removed at night. The following treatment will keep the skin clear and smooth: —Wash the face in warm water. Eain water is best, bn u boiled or distilled-water will do. -Make a paste from ground oatmeal and roscwater, and add tills to water. - fter washing, rinse with lake warm water to which, a few drops of benzoin- tincture have been added. Strict observance of this treatment for a neck or two will impart to most_ s^lls Peasant texture with no shine. The ±a,ce should always be left to cool down for at least lialf an hour after play, Even ’then no liquid should be applied, bat at the’first opportunity a cooling cucumber lotion or ia solution made bj adding a few drops of witch-hazel to a reac.upful of water should be used.
