AUSTRALIAN WOMEN PLAYERS RETURN. GRATIFIED WITH DOMINION TOUR.

Members of the Australian women’s tennis team have returned from New Zealand enthusiastic about their tour and the arrangements. Miss Hartigan said the programme was so well organised that they had plenty of rests between the fixtures. The others are loud in their praises of the New Zealand people’s hospitality.
QUEENSLAND BEAT JAPAN.
FAULTLESS MATCH PLAYED BY McGRATH.

Queensland defeated Japan in the tennis match by five rubbers to three. McGrath playing- for the northern .State, defeated Nunoi, I—6, 6 — 2; 6 —3, and Harada, 3—6, 6—4, 6—2. In the latter match he played faultlessly.
DAVIS CUP ARRANGEMENTS. AUSTRALIA TO MEET CUBA IN FIRST ROUND.
(Received This Day, 9.55 a.m.) MELBOURNE, Feb, 24. Mr J. Clemenger will act as captain and manager of the Australian team to play for the. Davis Cup. The team will .compete in the American zone and will meet Cuba in the first round. • The Tennis Association, has decided to contribute £l5O to the expense of Mrs Crawford making the trip.
