CROWN CASE NOT PROVED.
CHARGE OF PERSONATION UNDER ELECTORAL ACT.
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) GISBORNE, Wednesday.
Holding, at the conclusion of the case for the' prosecution, that the -Crown had not proved its case, Mr Justice MacGregor requested the jury to return a verdict 'of not guilty on a charge of personation under the Electoral Act, preferred against Frederick Valentine, a veterinary practitioner. The jury gave a verdict accordingly.
