Hoover Anxiously Awaits Reply
San Francisco Press Broadcast. WASHINGTON, Feb. 2. President Hoover to-night anxiouslyawaited a reply to his five-point peace plan submitted to Japan and China today, together with a tender of good offices to adjust the differences. Great Britain, France and Italy made similar proposals. The proposal calls for the immediate cessation of hostilities under provisions of the Kellogg anti-war pact, and the League of Nations, and that neutral zones be established to avoid further friction until peace can be established.
In making the plan public the White House denied published reports that the United States had joined with the League of Nations in making a demand on China and Japan that war cease at once. It was pointed out that this 'country was not even represented at the League meeting.
