The New Zealand cricketers gave a brilliant exhibition of batting at Oxford. The weather was fine and the wicket good. Lowry again won the toss. Vivian and Page were associated in . .a brilliant partnership, adding 219 in <)4 minutes. Vivian played a dazzling innings. He was in 125 minutes and scored thirteen fours and two sixes. Page also gave a fine display of free bitting during the 119 minutes he was , at the wickets. He hit thirteen fours. Merritt made 31 in ten minutes, including one six and five fours. The whole innings of-488 lasted only 205 minutes. Although the scoring was remarkably fast it was checked slightly by the brilliant University fielding.
