Speed of Lorries

AN IMPORTANT QUESTION CAETEETON, Last Night. The traffic inspector for No. 10 Highways District brought a case against a motor lorry driver for exceeding the speed limit set down in the regulations for the particular class of vehicle he was driving The offence was admitted by the driver Following this ease an information was laid against the owner of the vehicle for permitting the speed limit to be exceeded Both cases were adjourned, as the Magistrate considered there, was a principle involved which was of great importance. Drivers might be induced to exceed speed limits as the trip schedule laid down for them by the owners could not be carried out without so doing. The question was of importance to all local authorities and needed a ruling to settle the matter.
