An important development in the proceedings connected with the Bank Amendment Bill, under which it is proposed to use the gold reserve for meeting oversea commitments, was the Senate move to have. Sir Robert Gibson (Chairman of the Commonwealth Bank) called to the bar of the House next week to give evidence in relation ■to the measure.
