Sensation Caused When Businessmen Arrested in Glasgow

A sensation was caused iu Glasgow wlicn it became known tliat K! business men had been arrested ia connection with the affairs of the £11,000,000 company, Scottish Amalgamated Silks, Ltd., at present in liquidation. The business of the Glasgow Stock Exchange was practically at a, standstill while the nows was discussed,. Relatives and friends rushed to the police station, where a number of brief interviews were permitted. The accused are expected to appear at tlm Police Court to-day. In the meantime, a charge is only known against one of the accused, who is alleged to have formed a fraudulent scheme with others, whereby £438.000 subscribed by the public was allegedly upppropriated to their own use.
