DAMAGES AFTER COLLISION.
MOTOR-CYCLIST IS AWARDED £9OO AND £382. (By Telegraph —Press Association.) HAMILTON, ThiisDay. ‘ General damages £9OO and special damages £382 were awarded William Styles, aged 29 years, in the Supreme Court at Hamilton, in a claim arising out of an accident on the MamakuRotorua Highway on January 25th, 1929, when he was knocked off a motorcycle by a service car dijiven by Harold Bates. The plaintiff was seriously injured and the machine’was damaged. Prior to the collision, plaintiff was employed as a henchman,, but as a result of the injuries which he received he was unable to work until April, 1930. He thereby last wages amounting to £420. Since March he had been able to work as a casual employee only. Plaintiff’s injuries consisted of compound fractures of the right leg above and below the knee and injuries to the right ankle, which had permanently shortened the leg by an inch and stiffened the ankle. He was incapable now of working as a henchman. Special damages, lotalling £7Ol 5s and £ISOO general damages were claimed.
