Wife lost in Bush While Husband is Pig Shooting

PEARS FOR HER SAFETY. NAPIER, Last Night. Fears arc entertained for the safety of Mrs Heming, wife of a roadman living 12 miles on the Taupo side of Tarawera, who has been missing since Saturday evening.’ Mr and Mrs Homing were out together on Saturday afternoon in a clearing not far from' their house. Heming left his wife to go in search of pigs. He wounded a large boar and called up his dogs to track it as it penetrated deeper into the bush, thinking his wife would proceed home. On returning to camp later his wife was not there. Darkness had set in and Heming returned to the bush and continued his search unsuccessfully until late into the night. The police have since been engaged in an extensive search with the assistance of residents of’ the district, but no trace of Mrs Heming has been found. The density of the bush and the ruggedness of the country together with the bad weather since Saturday make the search difficult and the plight, of the unfortunate woman is serious.
