—>*■———^ CHOCOLATE EICH CAKE. ■■■■ Take Soz. ground ricd, 2oz. cocoa, 6oz. flour, I teaspoon baking-powder, castor sugar, £lb. butter, 3 eggs, milk. Mix the baking-pow-der with 1 spoonful of the flour and put aside. Sieve the remainder of the flour with ground rice and cocoa. Beat the eggs well, beat butter and sugar to a cream and stir in sifted, dry ingredients alternately with beaten eggs. Mix well, adding/a very little milk if,’ necessary. Lastly, stir i nthe baking-powder and pour into a tin lined with greased paper. Bake in a moderate oven for about 1 hour. When cool coat W’ith chocolate icing.
