THOSE OLD FELT HATS.

Before discarding your old felt hats it is a good idea to think if there is "anything at home for which a small piece of felt would come in useful. Save all. the small pieces and draw circles on them by placing a halfpenny on the felt and running round the edge of it with a pencil; if it is dark coloured use a red pencil or chalk. Now cut these circles out with scissors and glue them on to the ends of chairs and table legs. This will not only save the lino, from a lot of scratches, but the furniture, will not make so much noise when moved; be careful how you handle things till the glue has set, otherwise they may slip off if the chair or table is pushed. Another thing you can do with the .small bits is to make those narrow strips that you glue in the back of a shoe when it is a little loose. Cut these about 3in.'long and sin. wide, and glue the strips along the top edge of the heel. This not only prevents the shoe from slipping up and down, but it stops the rub on the stocking,' thus obviating holes.
