PROGRAMME NOTES Recently the Monte Carlo Concert Orchestra gave a very fine concert programme at IYA, and the combination lias been engaged again for this evening. It will give selections from favourite operas. The vocalists for the evening will be Mrs. Laetitia Dairy (soprano), Mr. Arthur Ripley (tenor) and Mr. Frank Sutherland (baritone). A special feature of the programme will be a talk by Dr. Georrge de Clive Lowe on 'Music in Nature and Music in Our Daily Lives, 5 2YA’s evening programme will be of a popular type. Mrs. Mildred Kenny’s mandolin band will be contributing; also 'a novelty duo, Shand and Austin. Humour will be provided by ‘ Mr. C. Browne. Solos will be sung by Miss Marjorie Bennie (contralto) and Mr. Johnny Hines (tenor). An instrumental programme will be provided by the 2YA Salon Orchestra under M. T. Dixon.

The first half of the Christchurch Music Week programme this evening Ayil 1 be contributed by the Christchurch Lifedertafel, and the second half bv the Christchurch Professional Musicians' Orchestra. Mrs. Carty, Miss Mary Somerville. Miss Pennie Marshal*, and Messrs. U Stubbs and Buster Brown arc the assisting vocal artists in a very popular type of band programme at 4YA. There will be Scottish songs well represented on the programme, and also Scottish humour. Selections from ‘Lcs Cloches de Coi'noviHe’ are to be played by the band of the Otago Regiment.
