HIGHER STANDARD EXPECTED TO RESULT. (Ey Telegraph— Pt**h Awwciation). WELLINGTON, This Day. The North Island Brass Bands Association is inviting the South Island Association to agree to the establishment of one controlling body, with offices in Wellington. The idea behind the movenrcnt is primarily to onab'e the controlling body to build up resource,? for the purposes of assisting and furthering band music in the Dominion. Mr H. D. Bennett, president of the North Island Association, said to-day that there "were not enough bands jn New Zealand to justify divided control as at present. It was expected that after a year or so the controlling body would be able to engage the services of a professional to visit in turn all bands- in the country—an advantage which was quite out of the question under the present conditions.
