IF SIR JOSEPH RETIRES.
UNITED PARTY WILL SELECT A LEADER. (By Telegraph —Press Association.) DANNEYIRKE, This Day. Questioned by a News representative about the Wellington rumours of the possibility of the early retirement of the Prime Minister and the appointment of himself as leader of tiie United Party, the Hon. E. A. Ransom (Minister of Public Works) to-day stated, “I have no knowledge of the suggested retirement of the Prime Minister, but should Sir Joseph Ward decide to do so, all members of the Party will be called together to select a leader. Until such time as they are called together, I do not desire to make any comment upon the of future leader.”
