TALKIE PUNT ARRIVES.
SEVEN TONS OF EQUIPMENT.
Some idea of the magnitude of the Western Electric "talkie" plant to be installed at the De Luxe Theatre was gained yesterday when W. Capper and Son delivered the remainder of the plant. Before going to the thoatrf they drove through the town of Qtaki and round '.he main thoroughfare* oS Levin, so as to give the public aonw idea of the immense amount, of apparatus required for perfect reproduction. This is not by any means the whole of it for a Dig amount of woodwork \3 being done locally by Mr J. K. Allen and his staff. This includes a frami for the new screen 21 ft. Gin. by 17 ft. (Jin. and the h )using for the two loud speakers. These are each 5 ft. wid\i bv 4 ft. 9 "n. high and are housed in a* stand 16 ft. high, 11 ft. wide and 6 ft. in depth. All the stago equipment is so fitttd that it can bo ai.sconneeted and moved back should th<j stage be required for either local or travelling productions. The Western Electric Company's vxperts have commenced the work of installation ain't the opening talkie will bo "The Singing Fool," featuring Al" Jolson. Tin? date has not yet been definitely ftced, but will be announced later.
