CENTURY HALL, THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING. The Summer Show of the Lovin Horticultural and Industrial Society, in the Century Hall this afternoon and evening, promises to., eclipse its predecessors, both in the number of entries an! thq attendance. Despite the trying' wer.ther conditions experienced daring the past month, a magnificent display of blooms has been, made," and both iu this section and those devoted to fruit and vegetables there is evidence of it high standard of cultivation. Certain special features are in themselves worthy of a visit. Of outstanding interest is the collection of native plants, including beautiful bush flowers, orchids and alpine specimens, all labelled hi such a way as to provide an excellent object-lesson. Another exhibit apart from the competitive classes is by tlio domestic science pupils of the Levin District High School, and its appeal will be appreciated by all who see it. The decorative classes again make a. highly attractive showing, and theneedlework section, which in believe! to constitute a local record, ifi quito a. revelation of artistry and skill. -he doors will close at 5 pm., but will re-open at 7.30, and tho exhibition will doubtless be crowded in the evening. The price of admission is 1/-. A member's subscription of 2/6 entitles the holder to admission to all the Society's shows.
