On Saturday a match was played by Shannon against the Otaki Club at Otaki. It is some considerable time since these clubs were matched and each game was keenly contested ( . The weather was ideal, and the green in good order. After the match tho Shannon members were hospitably entertained. , The afternoon's play resulted in a win for. the Otaki Club by 9 games to 5, one game being halved. Next Saturday the return match will be played at Shannon. Result of play (Otaki mentioned first): — D'Ath beat Blyth. Holmes beat Goodwin. Grey lost to Leng-Ward. S. Simcox lost to McKenzie. P. Simcox beat C. Stern. B. Brown beat A. Saxon. Dr. Milne beat H. Stern. Murray beat H. C. Jones. R. Brown beat Campbell. Hardie lost to King. Atmore beat Stevenson. Jensen lost to Tregurtha. Wilson lost to Blackwood. Little beat Robinson. Pearee and Pederaon halved.
