PERSONAL.
The funeral of the late Mr W. Fa loon, of Arapaepae Road, took place yesterday afternoon, when a large number of neighbours and other friends followed the hearse to the Levin Cemetery. Several floral tokens accompanied the casket, and the family were the recipients of many messages of sympathy. The burial service was conducted by Mr Franklin Ferguson, of Palmerston North.
Mr T. W. Treen, who has severed his connection with the "Chronicle" job-printing department after being its foreman for the past six years, was met by the combined staffs this morning and presented with a handsome' clock, suitably inscribed, as a token of their goodwill. The presentation was made by Mr T. Brown, the firm's accountant, who referred to the esteem in which the recipient had always been held by those with whom he had been associated in the establishment. Mr Treen replied in a vein of gratitude for the kindly sentiments extended to hi id and toy Ue .nails' tangible toicen of their regard, and he expressed regret that the time had come when he must pa.c from them after a p.. nod of such happy relations. The management also maue Mr Treen ;. Vi.it a two presentation on the occasion or his leaving its service.
