CHARGE OF MANSLAUGHTER.
(By Telegrnnh—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, This Day. Thomas Xizicli, aged 35, a Dalmatian, has lx en arrested in connection with a brawl in a Dalmatian boarding house yesterday afternoon. He was before Mr Hunt, S.M.. at the Police Court this morning and charged with unlawfully assaulting Arthur Ludwig, who died ns a result of his injuries, thereby committing the crime of manslaughter. Accused made no reply to Hie charge and was remanded till July 4. Mr Moody, counsel for accused, applied for bail, stating Ni/.ich had been a resident of Auckland for fourteen years. The Magistrate fixed the bail in accused’s own recognisance of hiUOO and two other sureties of £SOO each. Two of accused’s countrymen wore accepted for the latter amounts.
