AUSTRALIA FACING INDUSTRIAL COLLAPSE.
ARBITRATION COURT MUST GO. (By Telegraph-Press Assn,-Copyright.) (Received This Day, D.JS a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. The Minister of Trade and Customs, Mr Gullett, has made a statement that the Federal Government would stand or fall by its decision to abolish the Arbitration Court, whose awards were flagrantly flouted by sections of the workers. He added: “We must have a great efficiency drive from the top to the bottom to escape one of the worst depressions Australia has known. X would like to see a return of the 48 hour week and the establishment of piecework.”
